We have a no-kill mission to save the lives of homeless cats and dogs abandoned and/or placed in kill shelters, while also providing life-saving programs and services to keep pets and their people together. Through outreach, education and service, we provide cats and dogs with an opportunity to live their full lives.
LMN Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-only, foster based, no-kill animal rescue charity. Rescuing cats and kittens in our community and high standards of care for those in our adoption program are our top priorities. Our goal is to find permanent loving homes for animals we have rescued and rehabilitated, and we do our very best to meet the requirements of adoptive parents through our screening methods. We do not contract with any local governing bodies but do pull from county and city kill facilities. Our average yearly adoptions are approximately 325. We have 15 active volunteers, and all of our animals are in foster homes. We have weekly adoption events at local Petco and Petsmart stores, and we also actively adopt through Petco on-site condos, our FaceBook site, and Petfinder. We serve as a critical resource in our community by providing a means for housing and caring for some of the many abandoned or injured animals found by kind hearted people in our area. Many who find these animals are not able to care for them.rnrnOur primary purpose is rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding permanent and loving homes for abandoned, abused, and neglected felines through our volunteer home-based foster program. Cats and kittens in our care receive initial health exams, FIV/Felv tests, panleukopenia and rabies vaccinations, spay/neuter and other lifesaving veterinary or supportive care. LMN also offers microchips with lifetime registration to adopters as a key measure to help pets find their way home in the event the unexpected happens and a pet gets lost.rnrnOur secondary purpose is aiding in reducing the population of unwanted feral and free roaming stray felines in the community. We do this with trap, neuter and release (u201cTNRu201d) services. Our TNR program decreases the numbers of abandoned cats and kittens by preventing the birth of kittens in the community and taking kittens born to feral cats into the adoption program early, before they too become feral. In 2016, LMN trapped, neutered, and released 572 feral felines and placed 212 rehabilitated cats and kittens in carefully screened permanent homes.rnrnLMN Feline Rescue would like to thank the Petfinder Foundation for awarding us the Adoption Options in Action Grant! Thank you for making our mission possible.
